Join Pilobolus this winter for an energetic workshop that will get your creative juices flowing, challenge your body and mind, and open up a world of collaborative and movement-based possibilities. Nestled at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains, Groundworks Retreat Space offers the perfect setting to step away from daily life and connect to what ignites you.
Pilobolus's founders were not dancers, but curious movers. Pilobolus workshops underline our founders' ideas that anyone can dance and create dance. Whether you haven't taken a dance class in 20 years, take class regularly, or have never even danced a step, there is a place in a Pilobolus Intensive for you. We work with dancers and non-dancers alike to expand the idea of dance and increase collaborative and performance skills.
At Groundworks, you'll find yourself surrounded by nature's inspiring energy, nourished by wholesome meals, and embraced by simple luxuries, including a wood-fired sauna, hot tub, and evening fires under starlit skies. Our hosts at Groundworks believe that changing your environment can shift your entire perspective. Their beautiful space has been thoughtfully created to spark new ideas, foster creativity, and nurture both inner reflection and meaningful connections with others.
Meals are prepared with care in the main house kitchen using fresh, organic ingredients—often including eggs from their chickens—ensuring every meal is nutritious, delicious, and satisfying. (See FAQs for more.)

What is included in the registration fee?
All lodging ticket types include room and board for Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. 6 Meals are included. (Friday dinner, Saturday - breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday - breakfast and lunch) Prices vary depending on your choice of accommodation. Learn about Groundworks room options.
What if I don't need housing?
Choose our Commuter Ticket. Meals are included!
I have special dietary needs, such as allergies. Can Groundworks accommodate me?
If you have dietary restrictions, please contact us before purchasing your registration for options: info@pilobolus.org. Groundworks is not a gluten-free or nut-free facility.
What is your Refund Policy?
Cancel before December 1, 2026, for a refund minus a $100 fee. Refunds are not available after this date.
